Tom Bannon

Vice President/Chief Foundation Officer

Tom Bannon was named vice president and chief Foundation officer at Community Hospital Anderson. He replaces Keith Trent, who retired in May 2015 after nearly 38 years of service to Community.

"It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of my dear friend, Keith Trent," Bannon said. "I look forward to working with the entire Community Hospital Anderson family to continue the impact we have on our patients as well as our community."

Bannon comes to Community Anderson from the Anderson/Madison County Visitors Bureau, where he had served as the executive director since 2012. His connection to the Community Hospital Anderson Foundation is strong, as he has served on the board of directors since 2013.

"The work of the Community Anderson Foundation is truly inspiring. That work is only possible through the generosity of our supporters. I am eager to build on existing relationships and begin new ones as we look for ways to enhance the lives of people in our community. Sometimes those ways will be simple. Sometimes they will be innovative. At all times they will be beneficial."

Prior to his time at the Anderson/Madison County Visitors Bureau, Bannon held various positions in the world of sports, including stints with the Indiana Pacers and minor league baseball teams in Bakersfield, California (affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers), Reno, Nevada (affiliate of the Oakland A's) and Riverside, California (affiliate of the Seattle Mariners). From 1994-2007 he served as vice president of operations and communications for Hoosier Park. He has also consulted with numerous companies and non-profit organizations.

Bannon has served on numerous boards for organizations in the community, including terms as president of the boards of the Paramount Theatre, CASA, Anderson Symphony Orchestra and the Rotary Club of Anderson, as well as being Sakima district chair for the Boy Scouts of America and chair of the United Way of Madison County's annual campaign in 2006. He currently serves on the board of Alternatives, Inc., the Anderson Young Ballet Theatre, Hopewell Center and Outfitters.

Bannon and his wife, Jessica, reside in Anderson. He has two sons.
